Drawing primarily from Christianity, Islam, and Secularism—with Buddhism providing structural support and Taoist thought influencing non-dualistic themes—this work defines faith as radical faithfulness to one’s own experience, marked by openness rather than absolute commitment. It argues that what is often called “truth” is merely faith that has been absolutized and idolized, undermining critical reflection. As both argument and example, this thesis introduces Embodied Disruption as a new method of research—one that refuses objectivity and instead centers lived experience, contextuality, and the disruptive impact of authenticity on dominant systems of meaning."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/downloads/4744fcb6-99b2-4a56-8068-d0b7cde977b5?file=thumbnail","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-one_step_mediated_deposit-approving","admin_set/default-one_step_mediated_deposit-depositing","admin_set/default-one_step_mediated_deposit-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_ids_ssim":["4744fcb6-99b2-4a56-8068-d0b7cde977b5"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Master's Theses"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["a73e1c05-49cd-4a4b-93e7-8fd66694bdf5"],"file_set_ids_ssim":["4744fcb6-99b2-4a56-8068-d0b7cde977b5"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Theses and Dissertations"],"account_cname_tesim":["ctschicago.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"read_access_person_ssim":["yasmine.abou-el-kheir@ctschicago.edu"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"_version_":1836650062732591104,"timestamp":"2025-07-03T18:06:33.053Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Thesis","hits":1,"label":"Thesis"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Kasperson, Casey","hits":1,"label":"Kasperson, Casey"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Embodied epistemology","hits":1,"label":"Embodied epistemology"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Authenticity (Philosophy)","hits":1,"label":"Authenticity (Philosophy)"},{"value":"Critical thinking","hits":1,"label":"Critical thinking"},{"value":"Knowledge, Theory of","hits":1,"label":"Knowledge, Theory of"},{"value":"Religions--Relations","hits":1,"label":"Religions--Relations"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":1,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"2025","hits":1,"label":"2025"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Master's Theses","hits":1,"label":"Master's Theses"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Master of Arts","hits":1,"label":"Master of Arts"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[{"value":"Religious Studies","hits":1,"label":"Religious Studies"}],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Chicago Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Chicago Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Chicago Theological Seminary","hits":1,"label":"Chicago Theological Seminary"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":null,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":1,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":1,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
